A: Daily use of PPIs, such as Prilosec or Nexium (available over the counter), can help reduce heartburn and acid reflux symptoms. Additionally, drinking more water, eating smaller meals, and taking Pepcid before bed may also help alleviate these symptoms.

A: While some people may see a decrease in appetite in the first few days or weeks of starting the medication, it's not that common. To decrease the likelihood of side effects, we start you on a low dose that gradually increases every few weeks. The majority of people will see the greatest reduction in hunger pangs after reaching their maintenance dose, which usually occurs after the second month of treatment.

A: Gas-X (Simethicone) is a popular OTC option for bloating. Additionally, taking a daily prebiotic/ probiotic can help prevent the symptoms from occurring. For constipation, stool softeners such as Colace (docusate) can be helpful, as can magnesium products (Natural Calm and Mag07 are highly recommended). Drinking herbal teas like Smooth Move may also help with constipation caused by medication.

A: If you're feeling low on energy, try drinking a glass of water when you wake up and doing some exercise or movement for 10–15 minutes. Yoga, walking, or your favorite exercise can help boost your metabolism. Additionally, taking a daily multivitamin and B-complex supplement has been shown to help with energy levels.

A: Absolutely! Incorporating a prebiotic with a probiotic, like Zenwise, is highly recommended to alleviate indigestion and heartburn. Additionally, it's a great idea to consider taking a multivitamin with iron and a B-complex vitamin.

A: Avoid eating greasy, fried and fatty foods. Avoid sugar/candy, chips, and snacks. Eat lean proteins and veggies/fruits at the beginning of your meal then a small amount of carbs at the end.

Begin a Daily Exercise Routine

Physical inactivity may cause an accumulation of visceral fat, which may cause GLP-1 resistance. ²⁵ Beginning a physical exercise routine may assist in getting rid of this fat and improve GLP-1 secretion and functioning. ²⁵ Exercise doesn't have to be complex. If you're just beginning, taking a 30-minute walk in the morning and hitting 150 minutes per week is a good start. ²⁶ It will improve insulin sensitivity, help you manage your weight, improve your heart health, and support your mental well-being.

Semaglutide is receptor agonist-a drug that activates the same cell receptors as the body's natural hormones. When semaglutide mimics GLP-1, it targets the areas of the brain that affect appetite, helps regulate blood sugar levels, and makes the stomach empty more slowly, so you feel fuller longer.Tirzepatide, a dual receptor agonist, activates the same receptors as the GLP-1 and GIP hormones, which helps lower blood sugar levels and reduce appetite.
Semaglutide has the longest half-life of the two, which may provide superior results for some people.Tirzepatide may be more effective than semaglutide for weight loss, as it has a dual mechanism of action.
